What is required to retain you on a criminal matter ?

An appointment. Retention of an attorney on a criminal case is an intensely personal matter, and should only be undertaken after a face to face meeting. The consultation is free. Only after a client feels comfortable with the person who is going to handle their case, should the decision to retain them be considered. Sometimes a meeting may not be possible, such as in the case of an immediate arraignment for someone who is in custody, but generally, a meeting is highly desirable.
